GLASS ETCHING

ETCHED GLASS:
Etched glass gives a nice frosted and edgy look to your glass and its super easy to create this edged look to your glass at home. It doesn't have to be a wine glass, you can etch anything glass... mason jars, beer mugs, trifle bowls, candles stand etc...

MATERIAL REQUIRED:
  • Armor Etch cream
  • Glass according t your choice
  • Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Cricut or other cutting machine
  • Paint brush

 let's start the  procedure...

  1. First of all cut out your design on vinyl.I use cricut for cutting  but you can use any other cutting machine or you can even use stickers.
  2. Apply transfer tape to your vinyl and then apply it to glass where you want it.
  3. With rounded surfaces, I usually make slits around the edge to make sure it lays down flatter.
  4. Press all around to make sure it is really stuck every where!
  5. Then you can take off the transfer tape.
  6. Then start applying the etch cream.
  7. Make sure you do this in a ventilated area,it's pretty smelly!
  8. Dip a paint brush int the cream and dab it onto the design.
  9. Make sure it covers the exposed area but not so much that it drips.
  10. Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes.
  11. Last but not the least take it to a sink and rinse off the cream with soap and water.
  12. Peel off the vinyl and wash the whole glass.
Walla!!!! its done now you can use it for your decoration.
