GARDEN POND

POND GARDEN MAKING:

Building a pond for your garden is not complicated as it appears. You could make a pretty little pond in your garden or front yard  where you can enjoy the sight & sounds or relax your mind. Here are some of the steps to build your own garden pond.
PROCEDURE:
Before doing any thing make sure to use a hand gloves.

  • Decide if you just want a decorative pond a complete water garden with live plants and fishes or an artificial pond.
  • I prefer artificial lotus flowers on my pond , but if you want a water pond then you need a deeper pond with more maintenance.
  • Rough out the area the size you want your pond to be.Lets say you want to make a pond of size 4x8 feet.
  • Once you have the pond shape marked with either point, chalk or a spare hose laid out on the border.
  • Excavate the pond to the desired depth & keep the sides as vertical as possible.

  • This will make it easier for you to hide the liner later. Lay some material in the bottom of the pond to cushion the linear against rocks, sticks, & other items likely to punch holes.
  • I prefer stones because it gives a more classy look to your ponds.
  • A  pond liner is needed you can get it from your nearest supplier or discount store.
  • Measure your pond depth x2 & add to the length plus 2 feet- This will be the length of your liner.
  • your pond depth x2 added to width plus 2 feet-that is the width of your linear & extra 2 feet allows for fitting & cutting away of the excess.

  • Lay the linear over the pond & fit into the bottom, fill halfway with water & allow it sit several hours or over night to settle over the lip of the pond...A few inches is important better to trim too little then too much, you can go back later & re trim.
  • If you want to add a fountain pump place it in the pond now.
  • Now you need to hide the edge of the pond liner with rocks. If flog stone is not available you can go for state floor tiles, & use a hammer to break them into pieces.Lay the slate over the lip of the pond then hide the smooth edges with river rocks. Simply layered them on top of the slate. You can also use the local rocks if you want.

  • Plug in your fountain pump & set it onto a brick to achieve the right height it necessary.Make sure to use a GFI outlet to plug into. If not consider a solar pumps.

  • Add plants & accessories around the pond to make if a more attractive for your guests. Keep some seating area near the pond of relaxing & so bird feeder to welcome the birds to your garden.
  • If your want you can use bleach to keep the pond clean but make sure to use it in a small amount & avoid it if wildlife frequents your pond.

And here is your garden pond ready you can you can decorate it as your wish..... Enjoy your garden pond view.....
